Monday Thoughts: The Reason for Misunderstanding …

As we learned from Jeffrey Corrandino at the NJBIA’s workshop on cultural competency, misunderstandings are a normal part of communication either because we unintentionally or intentionally use the wrong words or because we don’t understand what is being said to us. He also suggested, to prevent misunderstanding:

  • Know who you’re talking to.
  • Be respectful.
  • Be sure of what you want to say.
